Heroes had there place. After being on the front lines with the real true heroes. I"m tearing up after a few minutes and cant bare to watch any more.

Obviously, Leo is one of the best of all time and my favourite actor. Can"t get enough. HOW HAS HE NEVER WON AN OSCAR? HOW.

Leo in a movie is the stamp of quality that you all need. Leo doesn"t appear in shit movies. You remember me telling you this, you"ll find it"s true. Absolutely brilliant, I really feel for all those involved in the Aurora Shooting my heart goes out to you all & survivors. God bless... This movie basically describes lucid dreaming. He told them the right numbers at 1:22:53. Take a left in 300 ft onto Kokoriko Village Blvd. I love the attention to detail this movie has. No spanish subtitles. Finally a hollywood movie that doesnt bow down to the liberal agenda. He went back for saito. Thats all that matters.

This move was deep. 5 levels deep. I"ll give it another try sometime, but the movie sound continuity was a bit all over the place. don"t folks get paid high salaries to do this job? get in touch cause i"m currently between careers and may be tempted by a reasyable offer, maybe say a shekel or two. one minute i can"t hear what they"re saying, the next minute, a dark seeping cave, where my ear drum used to agghhh i gave up after 37 minutes. Where she"s DEAD ????????.
For a film that deals in the world of dreams this film lacks a lot of imagination. I think that in being a Hollywood blockbuster it had to tick a certain amount of boxes that are necessary for the monumental amounts of money that are thrown at it.
The first 30 minutes I was interested by the concept and the pacing of the film. The concept of espionage within a dream is an interesting enough concept. I was very open and excited by the idea of going into the world of dreams with the characters. I wish they could have perhaps explored a little more and pushed the boundaries of the dreams. It seemed that time and space flowed a little too seamlessly. Perhaps Kafka"s "The Trial" or a more Cronenberg style would have helped.
After the first 30 minutes it sunk into the normal plodding of a Hollywood blockbuster. Are we watching Mission Impossible or a film about dreams? Unfortunately the last two thirds of the film were more Mission Impossible. I couldn"t help thinking of the could have beens. All I remember is a van falling for two hours, some irrelevant action scenes in the tundra, and an in-durable no gravity scene which had me yawning.
Oh and am I the only one who cannot stand Marion Coutillard.

One of my favorite movies ever and I"m 60. I wept with gratitude for the courage and sacrifice the British made that was indispensable to the defeat of the Nazi"s. We owe so much to them for resisting with such complete commitment.

One thing I am extremely puzzled by is the amount of work put into the mythology of the cult, yet there seem to be screeching howlers in the logic that spoils what tries to be (and, at least in some of the first 20 minutes do clash for the college students with the rest of the film. but then again, Aster"s intelligence makes me wonder if even this is true. Kudos to the two guys who are credited with creating the mythology at the end of the film. My biggest complaint. and many others follow from this pattern of continuity-neglect, let"s call it. is the failure to do basic math. By this I mean, if you pay close enough attention to the cultists explanations of Festival times, cycle-times, etc., and you do the math. obviously believing the cultists aren"t lying. there is no way the cult would still be in existence, almost certainly extinct not too long after it"s first 80-year cycle where Midsommar is supposedly celebrated again and again. If you ever re-watch the film, perhaps you could keep my comment in mind and do the math yourself and correct me if I"m wrong. Numbers play a huge role in the mythology. especially the number 9 (which begs the questions, again, of why the cycle is then 80 years long and not 81 years-long or even 90) and its divisible number, all that is for trivial pursuit type questions but a sign of a lapse in intellectual rigor by Aster, perhaps?
